Bill Wyman has payed tribute to the Duke of Marlborough, following his death at Blenheim Palace on October 26, 2014.

The 11th Duke of Marlborough, John George Vanderbilt Henry Spencer-Churchill, died earlier this month. He was aged 88, and Bill requested a cricketing tribute to the Duke whom he remembers fondly.

Bill says he was friendly with the Duke in the 1980s, having arranged many charity cricket matches at Blenheim Palace over the years. Bill also recalls having dinner at the palace on many occasions, and asked that the above photo of Bill, with the Duke and Duchess in 1994 be shown, as well as an example of one of the posters from the charity cricket matches.

Bill says the Duke was a kindly and sweet man.
