A new film chronicling the rise of the Rolling Stones from teenagers to rock stars is set to hit the cinema in October, including a commentary from Bill. Called Crossfire Hurricane – a lyric taken from the song Jumpin’ Jack Flash – will be released in British cinemas, and includes documentary footage of the early years of the Stones, including their first tours.
“This is not an academic history lesson,” director Brett Morgen said in a statement at App.com. Instead, the film invites the audience to experience “the Stones’ nearly mythical journey from outsiders to rock and roll royalty,” he said.
The documentary will later be shown on TV channels HBO in the US, and the BBC in the UK. The band first played in July, 1962 at The Marquee Club in London.
