It has become something of a tradition at the Steinway Festival to celebrate the classic boogie woogie showdown with two of Europe’s finest exponents of this most exciting piano style – Ben Waters and Axel Zwingenberger. Is there anything more joyful than watching two Steinway concert grand pianos getting a pounding in rolling eight-to-the-bar beats and some relaxed blues grooves, too?
Boogie Woogie maestros Ben Waters and Axel Zwingenberger will be joined by special guest bass legend Bill Wyman (former Rolling Stones bassist and leader of the Rhythm Kings), fellow Rhythm King guitarist Terry ‘Tex’ Taylor and drummer Barney Stevens. These musicians love to jam with each other and the result is a thrilling night for an audience. Wyman’s love for blues and related forms of music is well known and he spreads his enthusiasm with his albums, books and tireless touring. This will be a very special night with excitment guaranteed.
