The Rolling Stones‘ soundtrack Charlie is my Darling – Ireland 1965 is won the Grammy Award for Best Historical Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards held in in Los Angeles.

Charlie-is-my-darling-copy-picThe Grammy Award for Best Historical Album goes to the albums producers and engineers, meaning that former Rolling Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham who managed the Rolling Stones between 1963 and 1967 won the award, along with compilation producers Teri Landi and Steve Rosenthal, as well as mastering engineer Bob Ludwig, according to the Examiner.com.

Charlie is my Darling – Ireland 1965 is the soundtrack to the Rolling Stones documentary Charlie is my Darling, which was released on DVD and Blu-ray in 2012.

Two other Rolling Stones albums got a Grammy Award nomination, but didn’t pick up a gong this year.
