Dear Bill. I was shocked when i heard the news. I wish you all the best and wish you a healthy and quick recovery. Good luck.
Bill,
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer 10 years ago. It too was caught early. Totally cancer free now. Trust your doctors and keep a positive attitude and things will go well. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
Hi Bill, I first read about your health awhile ago.Naturally I was shocked you could say. Here’s a poem for you & your family.
The sounds of nature are easily heard. When we awake in the morning you can hear the birds whistling.
It only takes a second for a human to feel pain & hurt.
Whilst wild life have a simple existence in the forest’s, we human’s roam the earth searching for peace & it’s easy to find unrest. Life can end for us mortals while we’re on this journey.
We must exercise empathy for this is the path of humanity.
The simple things, the soft caress. The innocence of a child. And the gleam of happiness in their eyes. All the destruction & anger we direct to one another. Hope this will not rage forever, because I long for peace & serenity, on this trek we’ve called humanity. God Bless you & your family. May you make a full recovery.
Tristan, Your words were very touching & I commend you for your love, sincerity, & empathy for our Bill Wyman. I’m a die-hard Stones fan from the 60’s, on. My best wishes go to Bill & his family. Hope he gets well soon.
Hey Bill, sorry to hear about the trouble but don’t let it get you down. The docs can take care of that and you’ll be nearly good as new.
All the best,
Kent
Tristan, Your words were very touching & I commend you for your love, sincerity, & empathy for our Bill Wyman. I’m a die-hard Stones fan from the 60’s, on. My best wishes go to Bill & his family. Hope he gets well soon.

I’m sorry to hear about your diagnoses, I just have one piece of advise.
don’t give up, never surrender. I won’t lie to you, it’s going to be a bitch of a fight but the more positive you stay and the harder you fight then the better the chance at remission. and if you do happen to lose the battle in the end, at least you know you did everything possible to survive, to many people dwell on death has a bad thing, having died twice myself I can tell you it’s not has scary has you think. just do the world a favor and live. live for loves, live for your family, live for your music. Just don’t make it easy for the disease to win.
stay strong, bless you for being an amazing person, we will be praying or sending healing energy, or just lighting a candle for your healthy recovery at our home for you.
Pronta recuperación para el mejor bajista del mundo.
You are the best. I hope you have a great recovery.
We all love you.
Dear Bill,
Hang in there. You’re a fighter and you’ll conquer it. Have some White Lightning. I’m sure it will help take your mind off it for the moment.
Kind Regards,
Tom Jordan

Thank you so much for all you have done, particularly writing your book. Your book is an important one that is very much appreciated.
I’ve been rooting for you ever since the Stones came through LA in 1969, and yelled so loud for you when MJ intro’d the band at the LA Nicaragua benefit concert that he threw his towel at you. I’m pulling for you that hard now.
Best Wishes
Bill, Charlie beat cancer and you can too! I’m a 66 year old American from Houston, Texas. Hi Bill, I’m sure you don’t remember me, but I met you many years ago in New York when I was with with Billy Joel and you were still with the Stones. I think it was some kind of Birthday party for you. I was thrilled to meet you and spend a little time swapping stories. Anyway, this week I will be 5 years clean after prostate cancer surgery. Mine was also caught at an early stage. By acting quickly, I remain cancer free and lead a normal life. Sending many prayers your way. Wishing you all the best. Big shock to hear that my favorite Bass Player has Prostate Cancer.
Treatment has moved forward in leaps and bounds over the years, so I’m sure you will make a good recovery.
Love the Stones. and I have seen the Rhythm Kings several times. The last time was a couple of years ago at the Shanklin Theatre, Isle of Wight. Great Show. After, Julie and I came backstage for a chat. very gracious of you!
I don’t know how you do it? The late nights, then on the road again to the next gig…… Must be in the blood.

Bill,
Huge fan of your early work with Stones and covered many of them in local bands in Detroit here in the U.S. Wishing you a speedy recovery. My Dad had it many years ago, and it’s NOT what finished him off. You have a lot of years of rocking left…he didn’t!
How odd…
I have just recently been re-reading “Stone Alone”, & found myself browsing here…
So sorry to hear of this~ too many of my friends, family, & far-flung music-chasing compadres have been laid low by damn cancer.
Beat it, Bill.
Heaven doesn’t need another bass player just yet~ Lemmy’s still trying to get used to the idea, himself… 😉
Wish I could do for you, what you do for me every time you hit the stage i.e cheer me up. I can only try with this messsage.
All the best
Get well! Admire you a lot.
Best wishes.
Dear Bill
Many, many years ago you honoured me by entering into my correspondence to you about ideas for a film about The Rolling Stones and Brian Jones. Respect and Regards – Chris Simon – Sydney.
Good luck Bill . My husband and I have been fans for years and remember when your brother John told us you were in a group and calling yourselves The rolling stones, unfortunately we lost touch with John and Jean especially as we are godparents to Hazel.

You don’t get to 79 without knowing how to side-step a few illnesses.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Hypotenuse Turtle? You’re killing me!
But seriously, with the early diagnosis and treatment, you will be fine to write more great songs.
Dear Bill!
I discovered The Rolling Stones in early 1963 and was in fact the second person in Norway to do so! Your bass lines always intrigued me, and still do so! I have read all your books, and have been greatly entertained by them. Recently I have deeply supported your efforts to set the record straight as to whom founded, named and lead the band in the beginning! As a matter of fact I will go to Cheltenham this summer to visit some of Brian’s sites!! Taking all this into consideration, I was really shocked to read about your illness, but I am also convinced that you will recover one hundred percent and be on the road again soon!
Bonjour Bill,
Je souhaite vivement que tu puisses te rétablir.
Bon courage !
Une “ancienne pierre” est capable de “rouler” encore longtemps…
