Bill has paid tribute to David Bowie – hailing him a true innovator of his generation – following the sad news of his death aged just 69.

“A special person who will be missed by us all,” says Bill in a tribute to a David Bowie, Bill’s friend and a musical explorer who defined genres and the ages to become music legend. David sadly passed away on January 10 in New York following a brave battle with illness, and two days after his 69th birthday and the release of his album Blackstar.

“Every time I met David, he was the perfect gentleman,” says Bill. “He was one of the greatest innovators – experimenting with new ideas time and again.”

Bill says he will sadly miss his friend, and the world is poorer with David’s passing.

In tribute, Bill has added this exclusive photo of him with David, taken by Terry O’Neill – it was taken on September 2, 1975 at Peter Sellers birthday party in Los Angeles.

Rest in peace, David Bowie, musical legend, trailblazer and friend.
