Cambridge Corn Exchange – Cambridge – Thu 7 Nov 2013
Always enjoyable even though I have heard all of Bill’s jokes before. Great musicians having a great time, sorry Georgie Fame was ill but everybody pulled together definite four stars would have been five with George’s Hammond. Posted 11/11/2013 by Wazso
Anvil – Basingstoke – Fri 8 Nov 2013
Went to the Anvil on Friday 8 November to see a superb set by Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings.
It was all I could have hoped for and more. The band including the always excellent Albert Lee demonstrated their knowledge of a wide range of music, mainly blues in a very relaxing, ambient atmosphere. Maria Muldaur joined the band for many songs where she sang lead.
It was a great evening and if you are a fan of the blues I would heartily recommend it – I will go again to another venue!! Posted 11/11/2013 by TonyWB
Colston Hall – Bristol – Mon 4 Nov 2013
This band of merry men and women gave an exceedingly brilliant concert with a mix of blues, rock, soul and humour. It was unfortunate that poor Georgie Fame was not able to appear due to a very serious bout of pneumonia which hospitalised him. Get well soon Georgie, you were greatly missed. The Waterside Theatre, Aylesbury – Aylesbury – Sun 3 Nov 2013
I had not seen the Rhythm Kings before although I am a big Stones fan and saw them at 02 and Hyde Park. I have seen Bill Wyman several times with the Stones.
I was not sure what to expect having only seen Albert Lee of the other musicians at a festival. I was looking forward to seeing Georgie Fame but he was ill with Pneumonia. However his replacement Geraint Watkins was excellent. The mix of blues soul swing and rock and roll was very exciting and kept interest throughout. They even threw in three numbers done by the Stones Time is on my side Johnny B Goode and I just wanna make love to you which was unexpected.
All in all a great show. Posted 06/11/2013 by Anonymous
Victoria Hall – Stoke-On-Trent – Fri 1 Nov 2013
Every member of the band was a star in their field, when I had got over the shock that they were grown up like me, I felt really privaledged to be there! Don’t miss them. Posted 04/11/2013 by Hathertonmum
