Description
Jimmy Thomson started his career with the D.C. Thomson organization in 1954, as a cartoonist and caricaturist. He later worked for the Scottish Daily Mail and Valentines cards plus the Glasgow Herald, Daily Record and Sunday Mail. It was his drawings for the Melody Maker which caught the attention of Bill Wyman in the ’60’s and ’70’s and many of his drawings were featured in Bill’s book ‘The Stones: A History In Cartoons’.
Jimmy’s artwork has been auctioned at Sotheby’s and bought by collectors. The University of Kent have an archive of some of his drawings.
