Bill’s auction of Rolling Stones memorabilia hit the high notes during September 2020, with record-breaking sales for his bass and amplifiers.
The auction, Property from Bill Wyman and His Rolling Stones Archive, saw several record-breaking sales following a frenzy of bidding from fans and collectors. Featuring over 1,000 items from Bill’s archive, it was his bass and amplifier, among other instruments, costumes, awards and personal items, that set records.
The auction was a huge success, especially for charities close to Bill’s heart. A portion of the proceeds went to Macmillan Cancer Support, the Prince’s Trust, and the Central Caribbean Marine Institute. The sale featured over 1,000 lots selected from Wyman’s renowned and vast archive. The archive contained not only an unprecedented collection of his instruments, stage worn ensembles, awards, personal items and artifacts collected during his illustrious three-decade career as a founding member and bassist of the World’s Greatest Rock Band, the Rolling Stones, but also important instruments and artifacts from his ongoing solo career
